Black Voices in Research Storytelling
The University of Florida Clinical and Translational Science Institute Diversity and Cultural Competence Council is holding its inaugural Black Voices in Research Storytelling Event as a way to stimulate vulnerable and true conversations about race. The goal of this event is to highlight the importance of sharing personal stories and the role they play in making communities more inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible. The event was created in partnership with Guts & Glory GNV, a local storytelling event company, and includes stories from five Black biomedical researchers and research professionals at UF. While providing a platform to amplify these stories, Black Voices in Research also hopes to contribute to the growing global STEM discourses of diversity, equity and inclusivity.
