Rohina Sehra documents the story of Black and brown dancers who are working against the historic whiteness of the world of ballet. The author showcases practices required of Black dancers like painting their default-pink pointe shoes to match their skin tone and the challenge of finding the right shade of tights. Also, the author explores the way Black hair fits into a world that demands hairstyles suited for white dancers.
