In the streets of Harlem and Lower Manhattan, the outlines of enlarged "Black Lives Matter" letters were filled with intentional symbols and colors with each word being painted by different artists such as Tijay Mohammed, Sophia Dawson, and Patrice Payne. Letters include names and faces of members of the black community who were victims of police brutality. Street art for the Black Lives Matter movement not only makes a political statement, but also provides an opportunity for local artists and communities to come together.
