The objective of this paper is to assess the program "Can We Talk About Race" (CWTAR), a medical education curriculum developed by the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill College of Medicine in partnership with the Ackland Art Museum. The CWTAR curriculum aims to increase medical students' awareness of structural issues, particularly racism, on health and well-being through the discussion of artwork. By creating a space for discourse on the effect of societal factors on health, the program aims to cultivate empathy for racial minorities and comfort amongst medical students in addressing racially-related issues in healthcare amongst medical students.
