Arts Against Racism: Memorial. Monument. Movement. is a virtual arts exhibition which aims to lift up the tremendous array of creative works made in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. In doing so, project organizers hope that the exhibition will serve as an archive of the national artistic response to this historic moment. The project was created through a partnership between arts non-profit Arts Against Racism and Rutgers University, and officially launched on October 3rd, 2020. New contributions to the gallery will be accepted through Inauguration Day in 2021. Individuals and groups are encouraged to submit works in a variety of mediums, from street art and sculpture to spoken word and musical performances. Exhibition artwork addresses issues such a police violence and mass incarceration, depicts African American historical figures and events, and supports a vision for an anti-racist society.
